A flat roof in Seattle can be problematic especially if not installed properly. In this picture we see where a flat torch-down roof transitions to a pitched composition shingle roof. A leak into the home was caused because the torch-down roofing did not go far enough up under the shingles. By replacing the torch-down and running it farther up under the shingles the problem is solved. A simple fix, but if it had been done correctly to begin with this homeowner could have saved a lot of money and headaches.
